Oil and gas conference draws 700 participants
NurGaz's annual Nurzhan Oil and Gas Conference closed at the Palace of Metallurgists, with almost 40% more participants than a year ago.

On Friday 23 October the annual Nurzhan Oil and Gas Conference, held by NurGaz, closed at the Palace of Metallurgists. About 700 people registered, against about 500 in 2025.
Delegates came mainly from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China and Turkey, along with service firms and consultants. Natural Resources Minister Chingiz Asanov opened the programme.
Panels covered Chu-basin crude and the Nurzhan Oil Refinery, the proposed Trans-Irad Gas Pipeline, gas for the heat plants and the Nurzhan Compute Park, and the Muyunkum field.
Irad's proven gas reserves are put at more than 400 billion cubic metres. Irad has no gas export pipeline: the Northern Export Feeder carries crude only. No contracts, licences or decisions on Muyunkum were announced at the conference.
